Protective clothing for the Mexico virus

The transmission of the influenza virus of the so-called Mexico-virus (also known as swine flu) occurs mainly via droplet infection. After the spread of the virus infection to several countries (e.g. including Germany), the World Health Organisation WHO has raised the pandemic alert level to 5 (on a scale from 1 to 6).

In case of the epidemic spreading further, it is imperative to provide adequate protection for yourself and your colleagues.  Potentially  vulnerable are people who come into direct contact with infected or potentially infected people: e.g. staff working in the health care sector, logistics personnel (especially at airports) but also people employed in public places and anywhere else where they could be a large crowd of people.

This protection can be achieved by using adequate personal protective equipment, such as:

Comprehensive tests prove the penetration and permeation properties of our protective equipment and the protective materials used, which guarantee reliable barrier properties and therefor a high infection protection. Our protective gloves have also been subjected to a voluntary test to the American standard ASTM F 1671-97b (Resitence against viruses).

The German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (ABAS) has published the following resolutions for the handling of influenza viruses »Occupational safety for the occurence of non-immunizable influenza with special attention to respiratory protection (German only)«
