All clean?

When handling CMR-drugs (e.g. cytostatic agents) unintentional cross-contaminations can easily occur from contaminated gloves, vials, protective clothing, shoes, wheels from transport trolleys, etc.

Accidents or disruptions in airflow from safety cabinets can lead to the release of cytostatic agents. For example, in the German MEWIP study (Monitoring Effect study for Wipe samples in Pharmacies) cytostatic substances were found in 61% of all samples.

In cooperation with the german Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology (IUTA e.V.), BERNER International has developed a wipe sample set, with which contaminations with CMR drugs can be verified quickly and easily. Regular monitoring indicates weaknesses in the handling and cleaning which can then be easily detected and corrected.
