History
For a quarter of a century BERNER INTERNATIONAL GMBH has been your competent partner for pharmaceutical and biotechnological safety systems. With the incorporation of the company we have continually developed and expanded our products and services.
Milestones:
| 1980 | BERNER AIR ECONOMY GMBH was incorporated. |
| 1982 | Name changed to BERNER INTERNATIONAL GMBH. |
| 1982 | Production of various ventilation systems for hospitals. |
| 1985 | Development and production of the first generation of cytostatic safety cabinets type MB. |
| 1986 | Inspection and certification (BG GS mark) of the cytostatic safety cabinet type MB in accordance with the German appliance safety regulations. |
| 1986 | Launch of the waste heat sealing system BERNER SealSafe® or Pacto-Safe®. |
| 1987 | Development and sale of specialised personal protective equipment such as protective gloves, protective clothing and prep mats. |
| 1988 | The company's registered office moves from Hamburg to Elmshorn. |
| 1988 | A service department for technical services is set up. |
| 1989 | Inspection and certification (TÜV GS mark) of the BERNER Medicvent double mask anaesthetic gas extraction system in accordance with the German appliance safety regulations. |
| 1993 | Acquisition of and amalgamation with the company CH. Meier Leichtmetall und Eisenbau GmbH. |
| 1994 | A quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 is set up and certified. |
| 1994 | Certification of the quality management system as EC quality assurance system in accordance with article 11 B of the EC guideline 89/686/EEC for personal protective equipment. |
| 1996 | Development, production, inspection and certification (TÜV GS mark) of the second generation cytostatic safety cabinet type HV2-69. |
| 1997 | Inspection and certification (TÜV GS mark) of the third generation cytostatic safety cabinets type H-100, H-130, H-160 and H-190. |
| 1997 | Production and assembly of ventilation and exhaust systems for cytostatic safety cabinets. |
| 1998 | The company BERNER INTERTRADE GMBH is founded. |
| 1999 | The production and administration buildings are extended. |
| 2000 | Planning and implementation fo ventilation and air conditioning systems for cytostatics laboratories. |
| 2000 | Personal certification "Specialist subject knowledge certificate service technician for safety cabinets" of our service technicians by the TÜV. |
| 2001 | Development, production, inspection and certification (TÜV GS mark) of the fourth generation cytostatic safety cabinets BERNER FlowSafe® type C-[MaxPro]³-130 and C-[MaxPro]³-190. |
| 2001 | Development, production, inspection and certification (TÜV GS mark) of the microbiological safety cabinets BERNER FlowSafe® type B-[MaxPro]³-130 and B-[MaxPro]³-190. |
| 2002 | Construction of the research and testing laboratories for research into ventilation and air conditioning facililties and safety cabinets. |
| 2004 | Development, production, inspection and certificaton (TÜV GS mark) of the safety cabinets BERNER FlowSafe® type B-[MaxPro]³-70 and C-[MaxPro]³-70. |
| 2004 | Development and production of a new generation of an emergeny and cleaning set BERNER SpillKit XP. Inspection and certification according to the EC guideline 89/686/EEC for personal protective equipment. Awarded the mark of conformity "safety tested" by the BG Prüfzert. |
| 2005 | Development, production, inspection and certification of the microbiological safety cabinets BERNER FlowSafe® type B-[MaxPro]²-130 and B-[MaxPro]²-190. |
| 2005 | Establishment of the microbiological inspection method in line with DIN 12980, EIN EN 12469 and NSF 49 in the research and testing laboratory. Research and development focuses in particular on the protective functions of the personal, product and entrainment protection on safety cabinets. |
| 2006 | Taking over, new concept development and successful start of the practical-based seminar "Safety Training in Cytostatics" under the direction of BERNER International. |
| 2006 | Initiation and start of the research and development project "Safer environmental conditions for safety cabinets" in our research and development laboratory. |
| 2007 | Research project "Procedure review of HPV (hydrogen peroxide vapour) decontamination of class II safety cabinets |
| 2007 | Cooperative partner in the service concept "CLM - Camfil Labor Management" of safety cabinets, LAF equipment, fume hoods and hazardous cupboards. |

| 2008 | Development of the BERNER FlowSafe® Monitoring Software for displaying, testing and archiving of important data from safety cabinets. |
| 2009 | Production, testing and certification of latex-free neoprene protective gloves. |
| 2009 | Relaunch of BERNER FlowSafe® cytostatic safety cabinets of model C-[MaxPro]³-130 and -190 |
| 2009 | Design and development of a wipe sample set - Special kits for analysing cytotoxic contaminations. |
