In the development of safety cabinets there are no longer any standardised air flow velocities. The specific operating points of a safety cabinet, where the protective functions will be at an optimum, depend on the design and also on the standards of the individual manufacturer.
As part of a research project the protective functions of a safety cabinet in terms of personal and product protection were tested using the microbiological method in accordance with DIN EN 12469. The maximum performance, in the way of „Performance envelope testing“ was determined for a BERNER FlowSafe® safety cabinets. In this test method contaminations are caused intentionally. By modifying the air movements in the front access opening and in the workspace, personal and and product safety can no longer be assured above certain performance limits. Comparisons show that every safety cabinet has its own specific performance envelope and and therfore different performance limits.

BERNER FlowSafe® safety cabinets demonstrate, in comparison to other safety cabinets a larger „Performance envelope testing" and therfore have the highest performance in terms of the safety functions - this has even been tested confirmed by the TÜV NORD CERT, Germany.
BERNER FlowSafe® safety cabinets compensate disruptions in air flow dynamics very well and thus offer extremely high level of protective functions and are absolutely safe even under extreme conditions. |
